All the cousins!

On Easter, we all went to my Aunt Judy and Uncle Mike's house in New Territorry. My Aunt Janet, and cousins Lori and Michelle flew down from Boston to join us. Here is a photo of Sally, and Rudy Aleman, Amanda and Lisa Ronning, Lori and Michelle Andrew, myself, William, and Logan, Alex, and Jessica Aleman. Logan is holding up an ultra-sound photo of Liam! Posted by Picasa

Easter 2006

Liam was actually in this family photo...he just wasn't born yet! This was on Easter day. Posted by Picasa

Pregos

This photo was from April, 2006 at Heather's baby shower. Heather, Farrell, and I were all pregnant. Mom and John bought us each a plastic beach pail filled with goodies including their first fishing pole!  Posted by Picasa

Rudy and Sally

This photo was also about a month before Liam was born. I thought I would throw this photo in here because I think this is a great photo of Rudy and Sally. Posted by Picasa

Before Liam was born

I am still quite a novice at the whole blogging-thing and am unable to insert photos in chronological order. Anyway, I wanted to post some photos of Liam "pre-birth." Here is a photo of me and my friend, Rhonda with our matching Rockstar shirts on. My shirt says "Rockstar moms." This was a month before Liam arrived.  Posted by Picasa
Here is another photo of liam relaxing in the Boppy pillow. Man I love these Boppy pillows!!! I sure could have used one of these when Logan was a baby. :) Posted by Picasa

Relaxing in the Boppy pillow

Poor Liam has developed a watery eye. His right eye started watering last night and watered all day today. You can really see it in this photo. I am taking him to his doctor tomorrow. Hopefully it is not a blocked tear duct. I tried to tell him this is what happens when you stay up all night! Posted by Picasa

Grandma Alden

We took Logan and Liam to visit Grandma and Grandpa Alden on Sunday. William's Uncle Oscar and Aunt Connie were in town so we were able to visit with them as well. They are the ones we stayed with when we went to Mexico on Thanksgiving two years ago. Logan told them he wants to come visit them again. We really enjoyed visiting with them. Logan had a great time shooting BB guns with Uncle Oscar and walking around Mexico.  Posted by Picasa

Watching UT play at Wings and More

Logan and Xander had belt testing Saturday afternoon. They both did great. Logan's kicks are getting much higher, and Xander looked great sparring. Afterwards, we all went to Wings and more for wings and beer (of course the kids had cokes!) Liam wore his cute UT onsie, but managed to spit and drool all over it before the game even started!!! I had to change him into his pajamas. To make matters worse, I thing I heard him making little "owl noises" during the game! (Ut played Rice Owls) Looks like we will need to have a talk with that boy!  Posted by Picasa

Liam enjoying the day

Here is a photo of Liam at the event. He was so good! He even managed to give me a tiny smile for the camera! I think he enjoyed the ocean-breeze. He is becoming very portable these days...yippee!!!! Posted by Picasa

The USS Texas

Here is a photo I took shortly before the Secret Service kindly asked us to stop taking photos. The sub is very submerged, but draped in Red, White, and Blue. You can see more members of the Secret Service in front and UTMB in the background.  Posted by Picasa

Another family outting!

Yesterday, our "Alden, family of four," went to Galveston to visit Nana and watch the USS Texas become commisioned into the US Navy. This is a 2.8 Billion dollar nuclear sub becoming "Christened" as a tradition in which nautical vessels are officially introduced into service. First Lady, Laura Bush was the sponsor who broke the champagne bottle over the sub. This event was "invitation only" and my invite must have been lost in the mail! (just kidding!) For more details, view this website: http://usstexas.org/index.htm.

Because this event was not open to the public, Nana invited us to watch from her office in Galveston. Nana (Lori) works directly across from where the event was taking place. We were able to view everything, take some photos, and experience an extremely close fly-by from some F18s jetts!!! They were so low, the ground (and our bodies) shook from the noise! It was really cool because we felt it before we actually saw the jetts overhead. They flew by twice, and both times were incredible! The Secret Service were everywhere!!! It was cool seeing them all in the water around us.

Afterwards, Nana took us to lunch on the seawall. We arrived at the perfect time because as we ate, it started storming out and people from the event started to arrive causing quite a long line at the entrance.

What a wonderful outting, and as usual it was great to see Nana!!!

Pool Party

I brought Liam to my neighbor's, Mike and Vickie. For some odd reason, the weather was very nice on Sunday. It was overcast and cool out. We sat in the backyard and enjoyed the weather. Liam was very relaxed. Posted by Picasa

100% Male

After I gave Liam a bath on Sunday, I bundled him up in a blanket in just his diaper. He ended up falling asleep. After his nap, I wanted to dress him and bring him next door to my neighbor's house. When we unwrapped him, this is how we found him. Needless to say, William was very proud!  Posted by Picasa

Body Worlds 3

Yesterday, after Logan got home from school, we took the "boys" to see Body Worlds 3 at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. We had every intention of taking Logan to see it before Liam was born, but Liam decided he did not want to be left out of this once in a lifetime opportunity. This is the last weekend the exhibit will be here in Houston. Body Worlds 1 is in ST Paul, MN until December 3rd, and Body Worlds 2 is in Boston, Massachusetts until January 7th. After these dates, you will have to go to Germany to view the permanent exhibit.

We really enjoyed the exhibit. Logan was worried that he would be extrememly creeped-out, and have nightmares, but he ended up intrigued by the ability to see inside the body in various poses. He especialy liked "Horse and Rider." William and I liked the "Poker Playing Trio." William noticed immediately that one of the corpse's hand was a "dead man's hand," consisting of a full house with aces and eights. A woman next to us explained that this particular exhibit was designed specifically for Houston. The hand was indeed a dead-man's hand. She also pointed out one of the corpse's passing an ace under the table to another player with his foot.

After the museum, we had dinner at Miyako's. Liam slept through dinner, and William, Logan and I ate our weight in sushi! William and I sampled sake called Black and Gold. I thought it tasted like Vodka, and William thought it tasted like candy...hmmmm, how did our opinions differ so much! We ended with dessert. Logan had chocolate mousse cake, William, the bananas tempura and ice cream, and me...Godiva chocolate cake!!! Yummy! Posted by Picasa
