Many events to celebrate!

It was "extra credit day," St. Patrick's day, Spring break, and...Sammy's 13th birthday!!!! Oh, and one of the most amazing (weather) days we had in a long time!

The one that tried to eat us!

I didn't see this sucker until Rhonda was pulling Liam ahead of me in the wagon and got to this point. I grabbed her arm and said, "another gator, slow down" This one ended up turning around and facing us on the path with his mouth open. We walked so slowly and quietly, but it was already irritated by us it jumped, turned, went into the water turning around to face us again. We screamed and ran as fast as we could. It happened so quick that if it came for us rather then the water we would not have been able to outrun it. I have never seen a gator move that quick in person, very scary stuff! Needless to say we ended our gator-hunt and headed for the playground to wait on the older boys. My heart was pounding for at least an hour after that. Unfortunately we had to pass all the gators again to get back, we were a little freaked out!

Baby gators!!!

The park ranger was with us and kept a close eye on mamma gator while we checked out the babies. I was quite worried, but wow, what an amazing opportunity! I can not believe we were allowed to get so close to them in the wild, pretty amazing! Liam loved them and wanted to pet them so bad...thank God for seatbelts in wagons :)

CREEPY...Mommy gator guarding her babies!

The park ranger was with us (on same creepy path surrounded by gators) she said we could get this close and even get closer to the babies. She warned us that the Mom does not want to leave her babies so we should be ok, but if we are too close she will hiss, raise her foot at us and eventually attack. Very cool, but very creepy! Liam loved it, of course!

This sneaky sucker...

We were pulling Liam in his wagon around a lake. The left side of the path was full of swampy water, and the right side was clear water. Gators were everywhere! This sneaky sucker on the left looked like a log until we were right beside him....so creepy!

Liam not afraid of gator #1

First gator spotting of the day!

These suckers were so close to the paths. They were just enjoying the great weather, and didn't keep their distance very well! We saw at least 13...and we were almost chased by 1. :(

Me and Liam gator-hunting!

The outting was actually on St. Patricks Day! We had so much fun, and Liam enjoyed it. Everything was cool until the gator attacked! Liam was not afraid of the gators at all, fortunately his wagon has a seat belt!

Rhonda and Liam!

Rhonda is Logan's best friend's Mother. She is one of my best friends in the world...how convenient :) She actually hosted one of my baby showers a week before Liam was born (he decided to throw us off schedule and arrive early!) We had such an adventure, but the gators were everywhere! We finally took Liam to the playground and ate lunch after a gator became a little too aggressive with us!

Logan's extra credit!

(Yes, behind on my blogging, sorry!) Logan had an extra credit project over Spring Break for one of his GT classes. He had to meet his teacher and fellow classmates at Brazos Bend State Park for about 3 hours and hike. My friend Rhonda and I brought Logan, Sammy (his best bud since Kindergarden) and Liam. The boys took off and We decided to pull Liam around in his wagon looking for gators and meet up with the older boys later. This picture is when the paths crossed and we ran into Logan and his group. Logan is in the middle wearing a white shirt. They had so much fun, and we all saw so many gators...too many!
