I am certified to teach EC-4 now. I decided to substitute all grade levels for a while until I decide which grade I want to teach full time. Ok, Kindergarten probably will not be one of my top choices! I had a 2 day assignment and while it was definitaly entertaining, it is very difficult to actually teach 22 five year olds when you have to tie shoelaces, wipe noses, sharpen pencils, investigate "haunted" desks and pencils (long story!) and wipe tears because feelings were hurt by another student. Those kids are so emotional! Very sweet though, and I will sub for Kindergarten a few more times before I rule it out compltely. I am teaching 4th grade next week, so we'll see how that goes!
