The shark tank at the Aquarium

Last Thursday, we took the boys to the Aquarium and Rain Forest at Moody Gardens in Galveston. Logan has always loved both, but now Liam loves them as well. Liam is older now and really enjoyed looking at everything (especially the starfish!!!) He was a little unsure of the shark tank, but he did look around a bit.

That night, we went to Nana and Grandpa John's (John had to work at the fire station that day) Nana had a fantastic dinner prepared for us and we hung out and visited and relaxed after our busy day. The kids were so happy to see Nana! We stayed the night and took the kiddos to Schlitterbaughn (sp!) -I'm not German! the following morning.

This was our first time to go to the one in Galveston. It was very cool!!! We stayed ALL day! It was William's (30-something) birthday so I let him ride most of the cool slides with Logan while I hung out on the river with Liam. Not bad, I would pay $40 just to hang out on that river. It's not like the old "Lazy River" they had at Water World. This river is super-long, it has waves that come through every few seconds, and a few parts with little rapids. It had paths you could choose if you wanted to ride the larger rapids, go through the wave pool, or stay on the river with just the waves. It also would circle around to the kiddy-area which was shaded and I could pull Liam into the cove to get a break from the waves. Good thing, because the waves kept rocking him to sleep. He dozed several times, and as I looked around, I saw many other moms in the kiddie-cove with sleeping babies! The park provides free life vests as well as free tubes. Liam and I got this tube that was shaped like a figure 8 and had one side with netting under it for children so I could sit Liam in there and I could hang out in the other side. Super cool! (for obvious reasons, we have no photos of any of day two because we do not have a water proof camera!) The boys had a blast and William had a fantastic birthday! (FYI...me and the boys bought him this huge very cool weight bench with a weight set for his birthday...he was surprised and loved it-just not the "some assembly required!")
