It actually was pretty hard to tell anything so devastating had just occurred. There were things here and there but they have been rebuilding and cleaning up like crazy! The main thing that stood out the most, however, was the trees and grass and bushes and flowers. This time of year is usually quite colorful...this visit was not. All of the trees were standing but were dead had had no leaves. They were under salt water which killed them during the hurricane. Such an odd sight to see when you are used to being surrounded by colorful plant life during Spring Break. So sad! :(
